A pay run in Fatura is a month of lines: basic, housing, transport, other allowances, deductions, pension, and net. You generate it from people still employed, approve it (that posts salary and gratuity to the books), then mark it paid (that records the bank movement).
How is gratuity calculated?

UAE mainland end-of-service gratuity follows Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, Article 51: 21 days of basic salary per year for the first five years of service, then 30 days of basic per year after that, with a cap of 24 months of basic. Daily basic is usually monthly basic divided by 30. Qualifying service is generally at least one year.
Does every employee earn gratuity?

Expats on the gratuity scheme do. UAE and GCC nationals typically contribute to a state pension instead. Free zones (DIFC, ADGM) have their own regimes — Fatura stores the scheme on the employee; do not assume mainland Article 51 applies to every staff member.
Is gratuity a cash payment?

Gratuity in the books is an accrual (liability), not a cash payment, until you pay it. It is set aside each month so the debt the business already owes is visible. This Help panel never approves or pays a run.
Which pension regimes does Fatura support?

Fatura supports more than one regime on the employee: Federal Decree-Law No. 57 of 2023 (current GPSSA private-sector scheme), Federal Law No. 7 of 1999 (legacy), a GCC home-country fund fallback, or none. Confirm rates and salary caps with GPSSA before you file.
How are GPSSA contributions split?

Under the current GPSSA private-sector scheme: employee 11%, statutory employer 15%, of which a government share can apply below a salary threshold. Pensionable salary has a floor and a cap (Fatura uses AED 3,000–70,000 for this regime).
How do pension contributions appear in the books?

Employer pension sits as an expense and a payable. Employee pension is withheld from net pay. This Help panel never changes pension settings.
What is a WPS file?
Where in the app: Finance → Payroll
The Wage Protection System file is a Central Bank .SIF that your bank uses to pay salaries. Download it from an approved or paid pay run. It is not a substitute for marking the run paid in Fatura.
Which employee details does WPS need?
Where in the app: Finance → Payroll
Each person needs a labour card number, IBAN, and bank routing code. The business also needs its MOHRE establishment ID. If fields are missing, Fatura names the people to fix before you can download.
When can I download the WPS file?
Where in the app: Finance → Payroll
Export WPS after the pay run is approved or paid. A draft run cannot be exported. Add any missing labour card, IBAN, or routing details on the employee, then download again.
