Getting started
A magic link is a one-time sign-in email.
Magic link
Where in the app: Sign in
A magic link is a one-time sign-in email. Open it on the same device when you can. It does not create a new account if you already have one.
Link expired
Where in the app: Sign in
If the link says it expired, request a new one from the sign-in screen. Links are short-lived on purpose.
Invite a colleague
Where in the app: Settings → Team
Open Settings → Team and send an invite to their email. They sign in (or create an account) to join this business.
Roles
Where in the app: Settings → Team
An owner runs the business. Admins and staff have fewer permissions — for example some people can create invoices but cannot send them until they are approved.
Invite did not arrive
Where in the app: Settings → Team
Ask them to check spam. You can also copy the invite from Team settings and send it another way. If it still fails, message us from this Help panel.
Tax Registration Number (TRN)
Where in the app: Settings
Your TRN is the 15-digit number from your FTA certificate. When you add it in Settings, Fatura prints it on your invoices.
Emirate
Where in the app: Settings
The emirate setting decides how standard-rated sales are reported on the VAT return (boxes 1a–1g). New invoices store the emirate that was set when they were created. Documents already issued keep whatever they were issued with and are not rewritten.
Payment and bank details
Where in the app: Settings
Add bank accounts under Settings → Business. Those details can be shown on invoices so clients know how to pay.
How numbers are generated
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
Each new document uses your prefix plus the next number, padded to four digits — for example INV-0007.
Prefix rules
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
A prefix is 2–10 letters or numbers, or a slightly shorter code ending in - / or _. Fatura uppercases it automatically.
Changing the prefix
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
You can change the prefix at any time. New documents use the new prefix; older numbers stay as they were. Mixing prefixes is allowed but can be confusing later.
Design and accent colour
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
Open Settings, then Documents. You can pick a document design and an accent colour. These apply to the generated PDF.
Document language
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
Document language is also under Settings → Documents. It controls labels on the PDF (English, Arabic, or both). It does not change the language of the app.
Logo
Where in the app: Settings → Documents
Set your logo under Settings → Business, in document branding. It prints on invoices and other documents.
How do plans and billing work?
Where in the app: Settings → Plans & billing
Plans live under Settings → Plans & billing. Only the business owner can change the plan. Prices are shown in USD; the payment provider may localise the currency at checkout.
What happens during the free trial?
Where in the app: Settings → Plans & billing
A 14-day trial needs a card but you are not charged until it ends. You can cancel any time before then and keep access until the trial date.
Who can change the plan?
Where in the app: Settings → Plans & billing
Only the owner can start, change, or cancel a subscription. Team members with other roles cannot open checkout.
